Inuit Bone and Ivory Harpoon Tips and Tools

A group of seven Alaskan Inuit implements. Three are carved bone harpoon tips and attachments, probably from marine mammal bone, and two more are of walrus ivory; one is barbed and slotted at one end to receive a sharpened stone point, and all are drilled with a single hole for attachment. The group also includes a curved bone hook mounted on a wooden base, likely a balance or fitting used with a harpoon and drilled in one place, and a stone spear point with a grooved centre. The stone tool may be earlier than the rest. All are mounted in a custom shadow box.
