African Tribal Art
A carved wooden figure standing on two thick legs, with a long torso and protruding genitalia. The hands rest across the stomach and small leather pouches containing feathers and sticks are tied to the upper arms with fibre cord. The stylised face has narrow almond-shaped eyes, a sharply pointed nose and a thin mouth, and a rectangular headdress projects from the top of the head. The headdress and charm pouches may indicate shamanic status.
