Burr Elm Sgian Dubh with Elizabeth I Sixpence, "Earl of Eglington Relic"

Live edge Burr Elm Sgian Dubh Featuring a hand-made Damscus steel Blade and is inlaid with a Genuine clipped Elizabeth I Silver Sixpence dated 1580. Part of a series of Relic Sgian Dubhs, a timeless, special Sgian Dubh, featuring special materials, inlaid with ancient coins etc. Handmade in Scotland, it is made from Burr Elm from an ancient Elm tree brought down in a storm on Burns night January 25st 1990. On the grounds of Queens Park in Glasgow, site on May the 13th 1568 of the Battle of Langside. It has a hand-made Damascus blade and as with all of my Sgian Dubhs, the blade is sharpened to that of a butter knife for safety. A black hide sabbard is also included. Clipped coins- shaving off a small portion of precious metal for profit, this was strictly forbidden and carried the death penalty for those caught!Who knows this coin is old enough that it could have been on board a British man of war fighting against the Spanish Armada or in someones pocket at the execution of Mary Queen of Scots!
