Kota Reliquary Guardian Figure

Private Washington, DC collection of Thomas F. Caroll, acquired from Osmane, a New York dealer. Caroll worked in international development organisations from the 1950s through the 1980s, living in Rome, Chile and Washington, and donated some 400 Pre-Columbian artifacts to the Johnson Museum of Art at Cornell University, whose 2008 exhibition catalogue included pieces from his collection. Bought directly from Palmyra Heritage Gallery after its October 2022 auction closed — an in-person after-sale purchase of which LiveAuctioneers itself holds no record.
