Female Fetish Figure

Carved wood figure stands with wide-set legs, full rounded torso with arms in relief at sides, cavity on underside for fetish material. Wide face with roughly incised facial scarification along cheeks and center of forehead and nose, coiffure gathered in disc at back of head. "1861" written on back. Nick on nose, older areas of surface wear around head, and left foot lost. Dark brown burnished patina. Custom base.
