Ramu River Ceremonial Mask

A carved wooden house mask, probably from the Keram or Ramu rivers of Madang Province, Papua New Guinea. It is of the classic flat style, with a long nose and a smiling mouth, and the encrusted surface shows traditional use and weathering.
