Two large hoe currencies from northern Nigeria, each forged in iron with a flat shield-shaped body and a slender tang grip.

Provenance
Estate of Professor Philip Gould, New York. Gould taught Chinese art history at Columbia University and Sarah Lawrence College and collected African art, curating museum and gallery exhibitions from his own collection.
