Three carved wood heddle pulleys. The first is of simplified avian form; the second has a crested, wedge-shaped head; the third is a zoomorphic figure with long forward-pointing ears and large wide-set eyes, the long neck carrying three projections on one side and relief-carved decoration where it meets the body.

Estate of Thomas McNemar (1931-2020), who lived and collected throughout Central and West Africa in the 1960s and 1970s and established galleries of African art in New York and San Francisco.
