Baule Gbekre Monkey Figure

A hand-carved wooden figure of the Baule harvest deity Gbekre, also called mbotumbo, rendered as an anthropomorphic baboon. The figure holds an offering bowl in its hands, in which symbolic offerings of yams were placed.
