Tibetan Carved Wood Printing Block

An antique Tibetan hand-carved wooden printing block, traditionally called a parshing, used to print Lungta (Wind Horse) prayer flags onto fabric or paper. Carved at the centre is the Wind Horse carrying three flaming jewels, a symbol of good fortune and strength in Himalayan Buddhist culture. Surrounding it are densely carved mantras and scriptures in Tibetan script.
