Roman Bronze Lock Hasp & Fibulae Fragments, 8 pieces

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 4th century CE. A collection of eight fragmentary Roman bronze artifacts, comprising seven partial fibulae and one lock hasp. The fibula, likely representing bow and knee types, feature curved profiles and distinct ridged decoration. Each is cast in bronze and displays a varied patination from rich green to earthy brown, along with areas of red encrustation and surface accretions. The lock hasp, distinguished by its circular end with concentric ring motifs, was likely part of a locking mechanism for a casket or chest. Though incomplete, all components are in stable condition, with well-preserved surfaces and intact structural integrity. Size of hasp: 3.2" L x 1.125" W (8.1 cm x 2.9 cm)
