A copper or bronze plaque mount, most likely a strap, harness or saddle fitting. It carries an eagle, with fine but very faint detailing of the feathers still visible, and is decorated with square rather than round punches. The design reads vaguely Scandinavian or Anglo-Saxon. Age unknown.
